FIRESHELL IB4 5 gallon intumescent coating is a commercial, 1-part coating. An intumescent coating starves a fire of oxygen by creating a surface char which expands up to 2000%. Without this shield, surfaces are far more prone to the spread of fire. Furthermore, you can safely apply this coating on our spray foam insulation.

FIRESHELL IB4 provides a needed ignition and barrier coating that complies with AC 377 ICC ES for interior use. This is perfect to use on walls, foam insulation, attics, lumber and more. Intumescent coatings are an excellent way to passively protect structure materials. In a way that normal paint can’t, protect steel and timber in the event of a fire by thermally insulating them.

Moreover, this 5 gallon intumescent coating is water-based and non-flammable. It is drain safe and non-toxic and comes in 2 types (insulating and fire extinguishing). Safely apply this coating on metal, plywood, gypsum board, or spray foam. Additionally, this safeguard provides the necessary thermal barrier to protect the integrity of building materials. This provides the vital escape time in the event of a fire in a communal building. Be sure to wear a coverall when you apply the coating.
